ZAK STRIKES LUCKY TO CLINCH VICTORY
Bristol C 2 Preston 0
DEAN HOLDEN didn’t care a jot that Zak Vyner’s clinching goal was a mis-hit.
The defender (below) was making his first start for
City in midfield and capped an impressive display with the strike that killed the game off in the 77th minute.
City boss Holden said: “Zak will score better ones, but none more memorable, with it being his first for us. I just wish there had been a crowd and his family here to see it.”
Famara Diedhiou’s powerful downward header from Tommy Rowe’s eighth-minute corner had given the hosts a deserved lead.
North End boss Alex Neil said: “We didn’t get our final ball right or create enough in their box. The second goal finished us.”
