TORY MPS fear a challenge from the Reform Party if they do not go back to “traditional” Conservative values.

Reform – formerly the Brexit Party – has its one day conference today and is set to unveil policies of slashing taxes, cutting NHS waiting lists and rowing back on green policies.

Many Conservative MPS have privately admitted that they fear Reform could split their vote and allow Labour or the Lib Dems to win back seats.

The recent National Insurance rise and Boris Johnson’s commitment to a green agenda have left many fearful.

A new Opinium poll has revealed that whiletory voters agree in principle with green policies they are opposed to them if they hit people’s pockets.

Ahead of the conference, one red wall Tory MP said: “None of my voters care about this green stuff.they don’t like the idea of having to pay for it.”

Another said: “Labour are going to come through the middle unless we can

persuade voters the Conservative Party is conservative and believes in low tax.”

Ahead of his speech in Manchester today, Reform Party leader Richardtice said 600 candidates will stand at the next election, with 300 already lined up.

He said: “We can move the dial. We have detailed common sense solutions to all of the problems.we are not mucking about. I’m all in.”

His three big policies include taking six million out of income tax by raising the threshold to £20,000, inheritance tax thresholds would be increased and business rates reformed.

Reform also wants to use vouchers to end waiting lists. If people cannot see a GP in three days, a consultant in three weeks or get an operation in nine weeks they will be given a voucher to pay for private health.

Finally, he has vowed to remove expensive green measures and return to the original Paris target of an 80 per cent reduction in emissions. A new energy policy would see a massive increase in nuclear power along with solar energy, fracking and shale gas.
