Murray, 47, is a Canadian-born comedy musician. He’s a regular on Sky History’s Pawn Stars and new TV drama CSI Vegas, and has notched up more than a billion views on Youtube.

What was your first TV memory?

Mr Rogers’ Neighbourhood, a US children’s show which we also got in Canada. It was aimed at pre-school kids and he always wore a red cardigan to help him look relaxed. It aired on PBS and ran for decades.

Who was your first TV crush?

Heather Locklear, better known to me at the time as officer Stacy Sheridan on T.J. Hooker with William Shatner. Then it was Suzanne Somers on the sitcom Three’s Company.

What was your first TV appearance?

It was on local TV in Vancouver; then I played a TV show MC on a comedy-drama police series called The Commish. After that I did lots of talk shows. My first major acting role was on Reno 911.

Guiltiest TV pleasure?

What is your favourite current show?

I love the CSI franchise which has been going strong for more than 20 years. The new spin-off CSI: Vegas with William Petersen and Jorja Fox just started here. I’m in it and my fiancée Dani is playing a showgirl.

Which TV show would you take to a desert island?

The Love Boat. It’s romantic, it’s dramatic and there’s always a funny twist. I love it! I’d also smuggle in the whole series of Dean Martin Celebrity Roast where they roasted legends like Bob Hope, Lucille Ball, Muhammad Ali and Telly Sevalas.

What TV show would you like to put out of its misery?

Cooking shows. There are far too many on TV. How many different ways can you cook a chicken? Although I’d spare Gordon Ramsay, I like him.

My partner loves The Circle, and I’m really enjoying that. I like the way it’s based on social media and fake accounts.

What are you up to at the moment?

We’re filming the new series of Pawn Stars and I’m doing two live shows in Las Vegas, one at the Tropicana and one at the Luxor, both nightly. I’m also writing a kids book called At Night We’re All The Same Size.

● The new series of PAWN STARS is on Sky HISTORY every Thursday at 8pm. For Murray’s Vegas shows see murraymagic.com
