-

Brixton-born actor Terry, 51, is best known for his roles in British films including the Bafta-nominated

Rollin’ With The Nines and Once Upon A Time In London.

What was your first TV memory?

I grew up with sitcoms like George & Mildred, Citizen Smith and Keeping Up Appearances. I also remember Doctor Who and Star Trek… it was an amazing era for TV and at a time when there were only three channels.

Who was your first TV crush?

Not Olive from On The Buses, although I loved that too! It was Joanna Lumley in The New Avengers – she was so strikingly beautiful as Purdey.

What was your first TV appearance?

On Eastenders. I did two episodes when Kat and Alfie had split up and she was seeing Andy Hunter, the gangster. Then I was a debt collector on My Family, then The Bill, then I got into films.

What is your favourite current show?

I really liked Pammy & Tommy on Netflix, Lily James is amazing in that; and US crime drama Power, co-produced by 50 Cent is terrific. I like Jed Mercurio’s stuff. I did like Peaky Blinders in the beginning but I lost interest.

Which TV show would you take to a desert island?

Succession. That’s a great show. I binge-watched that.

What TV show would you like to put out of its misery?

The soaps have lost their way. They need to revamp them or axe them.

Guiltiest TV pleasure?

Tiger King! It was the most insane thing I’ve ever seen. No matter how screwed up you are, you know you’ll never be as screwed up as him. I do like a bit of Strictly too.

What are you up to at the moment?

I’m working with Filmcoin to make the first ever film fully funded by cryptocurrency. Production is already underway on Tales From

The Trap.
