MATCH RATINGS

-

AARON RAMSDALE

Only his second cap, but made enough good saves to be next in line behind Everton keeper Jordan Pickford.

REECE JAMES

Tenacious defending, dangerous going forward with some really good crossing from the Chelsea player.

HARRY MAGUIRE

Distribution was poor, solid defensively but must rediscover his passing range to keep his place in the England team.

FIKAYO TOMORI

Made an outstanding block and was solid at the back. Has improved his all-round game while in Italy.

KIERAN TRIPPIER

Versatile and smart enough to look very comfortable even at leftback. Good performance from the Newcastle man.

JAMES WARD-PROWSE

Neat, short and snappy passing but did not really drive the game forward. Solid enough from the free-kick specialist.

DECLAN RICE

This was his third start in a row for England but the West Ham star is showing no signs that he is slowing down.

RAHEEM STERLING

Missed a huge chance when he hooked over from close range. A frustrating night for the Manchester City winger.

MASON MOUNT

Started in lively fashion, and he worked hard and created several openings for England. Another decent display.

JACK GREALISH

It’s easier to make an impact as a sub than from the start. The Manchester City winger had a poor game by his standards. 6

TAMMY ABRAHAM 5

Fluffed two decent chances, but he worked hard but ultimately got subbed. Disappointing from the Roma striker.
