Islamic State shows video of Kurd soldier’s execution
ISLAMIC State thugs issued a ghastly new propaganda film yesterday of a captured Kurdish soldier being beheaded like journalist James Foley.
The copycat execution showed three black-clad IS guards flanking a victim who is bound, kneeling and dressed in an orange jumpsuit.
Billed as “a message in blood”, it shows the man’s decapitation in Mosul, northern Iraq, and his body lying in the sand.
The video was posted hours after another horror clip, showing the apparent IS massacre of about 300 Syrian troops in the desert.
Experts said there was no evidence to cast doubt on the authenticity of either clip. The six-minute decapitation video begins with footage of 15 captives from Kurdish Peshmerga forces, who have been resisting the Islamic State onslaught through northern Iraq.
All are wearing orange Guantanamo Bay-style suits and one reads a prepared statement telling fellow Kurds: “You have made a huge mistake by joining hands with America.”
The tape then shows the victim singled out to suffer the same fate as American Mr Foley, 40.
It was filmed in front a mosque in Mosul, captured by IS forces on their surge south to Baghdad.
