Yaya aims to stay Blue

- By Greg Makin

YAYA TOURE is set to ask new Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola to let him stay at the club.

The Ivory Coast star, who has one year left on his contract, is tipped to leave the Etihad when Guardiola replaces Manuel Pellegrini.

Toure, 33, played under the Spaniard at Barcelona and they won the Champions League in 2009.

But Guardiola sold him to City the following year for £24million and it has been widely reported that the two don’t see eye to eye.

However, sources close to Toure insist there is no ill-feeling between the pair and the midfielder wants to work with Guardiola again.

Toure has rejected offers to join the Chinese Super League and is set to turn down a reunion with old Etihad boss Roberto Mancini at Inter Milan.
