Apology over mouldy yoghurts

-

COW & Gate has apologised after parents inundated the baby food company with complaints over finding mould in pots of yoghurt despite them being in date. Complaints have also been made about finding live maggots in the products.

Now the company has pledged to investigate all complaints. A spokesman said: “We are really concerned to see parents’ comments about our fruit pots. We will continue to investigate each individual complaint thoroughly. Of the pots we have investigated most appear to have been damaged in transit or storage. In some cases we can see puncture holes in the foil lid – this damage has allowed air to get in and therefore mould has formed on the natural fruit contents.”

But Rachel Davis contacted Cow & Gate to say: “I was promised vouchers to replace the fruit pots and never heard anything back.”
