Findlay still ‘very torn’ over his Remain vote

-

JEREMY Corbyn’s closest ally in Scotland has confessed that he is “still very torn” over voting against Brexit last year.

Labour MSP Neil Findlay said he had decided to vote Remain because of anti-immigration campaigning from the then-Ukip leader Nigel Farage, stating, “I just could not be on the same side”.

However, Findlay, who ran Corbyn’s Labour leadership election campaigns in Scotland, said he was not sure if he had been right to vote against Brexit.

The MSP made the remarks at a Unite fringe meeting, A Left Response to Brexit, at the Scottish Labour conference.
