Sunday Mail Crimebusters have smashed a suspected human trafficking ring in a wave of brothel raids.
Police officers from Romania and agents from anti- crime agency Europol were involved alongside their counterparts from Police Scotland.
The operation, codenamed Arcero, targeted four flats in Glasgow’s Dennistoun and Haghill areas.
Two addresses in Craigpark Drive were raided as well as one each in nearby Hanson Park and Corsock Street.
A man, 29, was arrested over alleged brothel keeping in the operation on Friday and is expected to appear at Glasgow Sheriff Court tomorrow.
Police added his arrest was connected to alleged “serious and organised crime”.
A second man, 35, will be reported to the procurator fiscal in connection with what police described as “related offences”.
One man who saw one of the raids said: “There were a lot of police here and we had no idea what was going on – but nothing would surprise you nowadays.”
A Po l i c e Scotland spokeswoman sa id the operation was part of an “ongoing investigation into human trafficking and serious and organised crime”.
It was revealed in 2014 that three cases of human trafficking were being discovered in Scotland every week.
But it’s feared many more go undetected.
