Trump serves course for kids

- Craig McDonald

Donald Trump is trying to reach out to mums and toddlers at his luxury Aberdeenshire golf resort.

The Republican presidential candidate’s Tr ump Int e r na t iona l complex is luring young families by offering a Baby Brunch menu with boiled egg and soldiers for £2.50.

Bowls of porridge or a £ 3 bacon sandwich are also on offer.

Trump claims he has opened “the world’s greatest golf course” at the Menie Estate near Balmedie. It got the go- ahead after a long and bitter planning dispute with locals.

He says it has earned him £3million but official figures show a loss of more than £1million last year and a similar loss the year before.

It’s bel ieved the baby brunches are aimed at attracting new clientele.

One visitor said: “I’m not sure how it will go down with top-end customers or the golfing fraternity.”

The resort is offering the brunches every Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday for “bonnie babies and their mums, dads, grandparents and carers”.

The offer says: “Enjoy coffee and cake whilst your little ones eat, sleep and play. Highchairs, toys and changing facilities are available with plenty of room for buggies and pushchairs.”

Trump promised to spend £ 643million and create more than 1000 jobs at Menie. Critics claim he has hired 95 people and spent £ 30million.
