Martyn: I’m not leaving

-

extend their stay at Rangers beyond 2018 but are keen to remain in Glasgow.

Waghorn, who scored 28 goals last season, hopes the situation can be resolved soon because the 26-year-old says he’s going nowhere.

He said: “I’m really happy here. I had a very good season last year and I’ve got two years left on my deal.

“A lot of stuff has gone on and that’s up to my agent to deal with.

“I’m just concentrating on my football but my family are settled here and I just want to kick on this season.”

Rangers boss Mark Warburton insists he’s baffled as to why contract negotiations with the pair have become an issue.

And he says talks with their representatives will continue in a bid to get them tied up to longer deals.

Warburton said: “Nothing has changed with Martyn and James. We’re delighted ed to have them here and they’re y’re pleased to be at Rangers.

“I don’t understand where it has come from but it has obviously been leaked from somewhere.

“These conversations go on every day betweenn players, agents and clubs. . I’m a bit bemused why y it’s suddenly all about ut Tavernier and Waghorn.” ”

It was certainly all aboutut the former Wigan pair in Lanarkshire as their strikes kes earned a Group F victory. y.

Warburton expects to add dd Leicester striker Joe Dodoooo to his squad tomorrow.

And the Ibrox boss says ays the 21-year-old, along with th Joey Barton, Clint Hill, Mattatt Gilks and Lee Hodson, will feature against Annan.

He said: “It would haveve helped if we could make ke e more changes but I thoughtght t we dominated from the 15th5th h to the 90th minute.

“We’ ll have to make e changes for Tuesday.

“There’s st i l l some e paperwork to be done withh Joe but if we get it completed d that’ll be a good one for us.”” Kranjcar, Josh Windass, Barrie McKay, Mikey O’Halloran, Tav, Andy Halliday – I could name all the boys – we have great quality behind us.

“Getting a goal and an assist was great and it’s something for me to build on.

“Even though we’ve moved up a league, with the players we’ve added I can see us creating even more chances than last season.

“It was tough at times last term because teams sat in and tried to make it difficult for us.

“In the Premiership teams might push on and that’s when myself and Kenny Miller get our chances towards the end.

“With the midfield we’ve got supplying us, it’s only a matter of time before we score.

“Myself and Tav got 43 between us last season. Can we do it again? Why not? I like a challenge and so does Tav.

“We’ve got a great partnership and despite the step up in quality all the boys are confident.”

If Dodoo arrives as expected tomorrow, Waghorn believes the 20-year-old Ghana forward will add even more firepower to Rangers’ armoury.

He said: “Joe’s a good young Scottish football from the stands, not yet fit enough to be involved.

Barton’s capture is an example of how Rangers have heavily strengthened their midfield.

But their frailties at the back were evident here.

Without exaggeration, Well could have been 3- 0 up in the first 15 minutes.

Lionel Ainsworth thought he had scored from Marvin Johnson’s cross after springing Gers’ offside trap – but Halliday cleared off the line.

Then, from a woefully short Tavernier pass- back, Scott McDonald was thwarted by keeper Wes Foderingham.

With just 11 minutes on the clock, the Steelmen breached Rangers’ backline again when Ainsworth fed Chris Cadden but the youngster fired wide.

Warburton’s defence was all over the shop. At this stage of the season, rustiness will always be a factor.

But the likes of Rob Kiernan and Danny Wilson have looked ropey for a while and they were exposed early on.

Kiernan was having a real problem with McDonald. The
