Quake hits US states

- Our Girl

A large ear thquake in Oklahoma was felt across seven US states yesterday.

The 5.6-magnitude quake, which also shook parts of Nebraska, Iowa, Kansas, Missouri, Arkansas and Texas, in the Midwest struck at 7.02am.

No major damage was reported.

An increase in quakes in Oklahoma has been linked to underground disposal of waste water from oil and natural gas production. Michelle Keegan has dismissed rumours that her 15-month marriage to Mark Wright is heading for the rocks.

The ex-Coronation Street star broke her silence after months of speculation, insisting: “We’re happy.”

The couple were apart for two months as Michelle, 29, filmed BBC drama Our Girl in South Africa, where she was repeatedly pictured on nights out without her rings.

But after going clubbing with her husband in London on Friday, the actress said: “I find it frustrating people are constantly speculating about my marriage. Mark came out to South Africa when he could. We’d talk all the time on the phone and FaceTime.

“We’re happy. Just because we didn’t tell the world the ins and outs of what we were doing while I was away, there was a backlash.”

Michelle added she had to remove her diamond engagement ring while playing an Army medic in the Afghan war drama.

She said: “It would be stupid if I was wearing it with my uniform and holding guns. Also, if I went out straight after work, the last thing I would do is ask the taxi driver to go all the way home so I could get it. It’s silly.”
