Susanna I’m good friends with ex

Breakfast TV host Susanna Reid has revealed she is still “ext remely good friends” with her expar t ner despite splitting after 16 years.

The Good Morning Britain presenter said there has been “no hostility” with Dominic Cotton since their break-up in 2014.

She has three sons with the sports journalist – Sam, 14, Finn, 12 and Jack, 10 – and is proud of the way the couple have handled their split.

She said: “I am a single mum but I am not a single parent.

“The children have two fully involved, full- time parents who are extremely good friends.

“Between us, we are there for them all the time and I think they know that.

“I ’ m not sit t i ng i n judgment of other people’s relationships and splits, and there are al l sor ts of circumstances you just can’t account for, but I think we’ve managed to get to a good place.”

Reid’s parents split when she was nine but their divorce was amicable.

She added: “I’ve seen a lot of divorces in my lifetime. Dom and I were never married but effectively we’re divorced now.

“It was absolutely our priority to make sure there was no hostility.

“There genuinely wasn’t anyway – it was sad our relationship ended, but it was never hostile.

“The saddest thing for children is if parents turn against each other.”
