We’re back on the horse with trip to Broncos

It’s finally time to gear up for the start of the regular season.

On Thursday night we open the NFL campaign with a trip to the Denver Broncos, the team who beat us in the Super Bowl.

A lot of people are calling it a payback game but the main thing is starting the season with a win – it doesn’t matter who we are playing.

Super Bowl 50 back in February was maybe the biggest gridiron game ever – and the Broncos beat us.

But we aren’t playing the Super Bowl this time, it’s week one and we have a lot of motivation to win.

There’s a lot of fanfare around this match yet we need to keep our eye on the prize and win each week until we are in the Super Bowl again.

I never make any prediction other than a Pa nt her s victory.

We are both pretty similar teams to the ones that battled it out for the game’s biggest prize in Santa Clara.

The only difference is that Peyton Manning, one of the best quarterbac­ks ever, has retired from the Broncos.

But the key to their Super Bowl victory was their defence. Von Miller was the MVP in that game and he’s still there along with all the other big-hitters.

We had the perfect tune- up game on Thursday with a win in our last pre- season f ixture against the Pittsburgh Steelers.

It was a strange game because it was delayed by lightning.
