Ref is a Twitter whistle blower

Mark Halsey has effectively accused the PGMOL — the organising body for elite officials in England — of corruption in an incredible Twitter post.
The ex-English Premier League ref subsequently deleted his bombshell remarks about being told to claim he had not seen incidents when the FA wanted to charge a player.
Halsey joined a Twitter discussion on Friday when Sergio Aguero’s three- match ban for elbowing West Ham’s Winston Reid was upheld after referee Andre Marriner said he missed the incident during the game.
Halsey wrote: “I have been in that situation when I have seen an incident and been told to say I haven’t seen it.”
Quizzed on his comments, he went on to Tweet: “To be fair to the FA… it’s not them.
“It actually comes from within the PGMOL.” Former Manchester United and England star Gary Neville immediately seized upon the comments.
He wrote: “Mark is that not corrupt!! I’d like to know who told you to say that!!!
“@ FA and @ premierleague think you have a major issue on your hand.”
Ag u e r o h a d be en retrospectively charged with the offence but City challenged the decision, tel ling an independent three-man FA panel there was no way Marriner could have missed the clash.
They even provided TV footage but their challenge was dismissed and a threegame ban confirmed.
The PGMOL last night insisted they do not pressur ise referees. A PGMOL spokesman said: “Match officials submit their reports, including critical incidents, directly to the FA.
“Match officials ensure their reports are an accurate description of the incident. There’s no pressure from the PGMOL to omit anything.”
