TEENAGE BASKETBALL STAR ON HOW HE

- Michael at Stirling High

“My mum and dad encouraged me to phone them and see what they had to say.

“I went into the agency and they signed me on the spot. I had no idea what it would entail but it sounded like fun.

“Since then it has been a real whirlwind of castings, shows and photoshoots and I’ve been signed to agencies all over the world.

“Making that call has really paid off and the money I make modelling is going to help me finance my way through uni.

“When I wa s play ing basketbal l for Scotland, I never thought I would one day be representing my country as a model.”

The former Stirling High pupil, who is starting a chemical engineering degree at Strathclyde University later this month, says coming into modelling blind has been an advantage.

He said: “I was never fashion-orientated and if I wasn’t in sports gear I would be wearing jeans and a T-shirt from Topman.

“Knowing nothing about designer labels has been a big help as when you don’t know how big the names you are walking for are, then you don’t feel the pressure.

“I don’t get nervous at all when I am doing a show. I’m quite relaxed and enjoy taking in the atmosphere. It gives you a real buzz and you get to meet some incredible people.

“The travelling is good too. It’s hard work and long days but I’m loving it and hope this is just the beginning. I’ve just signed for IMG in New York, which is very exciting.”
