Michelle swithers over Army call-up

-

OUR Girl star Michelle Keegan is undecided on whether to sign up to another series – despite rave reviews for the opening show.

The former Corrie actress, who plays Army medic Georgie Lane, is concerned about spending too much t ime apar t f rom her husband Mark Wright, 29.

BBC chiefs and writer Steve Grounds are keen to make another series of Our Girl after it attracted nearly four million viewers.

Grounds said: “I’m sure Michelle doesn’t want to be doing it in 10 years but I hope she’ll come back. She was absolutely brilliant.”

Michelle, 29, played Tina McIntyre in Coronation Street for six years until 2014. She replaced exEastEnder Lacey Turner in the lead role in Our Girl.

Michelle said Our Girl was “the best time ever”.

But she spent two gruelling months away from her Essex home filming on location in South Africa.

A source said: “Our Girl was originally to be a single series and that’s what Michelle agreed.

“It was just the type of meaty role she craved.

“It will come down to a stark choice of another series or taking work which will enable her to spend more time with Mark.”

Michelle said recently: “I was working six days a week for two months. It will be nice to cook and watch TV in my PJs.”

A BBC spokeswoman said: “It is far to early to discuss whether there’ll be another series.”
