However, Mourinho did morph into Sir Alex Ferguson by claiming they were undone by Mark Clattenburg’s failure to see two “100 per cent” penalties. City defender Aleksandar Kolarov lost a front tooth after an altercation with Marouane Fellaini’s elbow.
But the Citizens still had plenty to smile about as Guardiola made it nine wins over Mourinho in 17 meetings.

“They changed their style in the second half, hitting long balls and they had some chances because they are stronger than us like that.
