One at a Prime for Jezza’s new show

-

Fans of Jer emy Clarkson will not be able to binge watch his new show after it was announced it would be aired weekly.

After Clarkson jumped ship f rom the BBC to Amazon Prime, it was expected all episodes of The Grand Tour would be made available to stream.

But producers have decided to go with the Top Gear template and wi l l release one show a week in 12 instalments starting on Friday, November 18.

Andy Wilman, the show’s producer, said he lobbied US- based Amazon not to release the programme for binge- watching viewers accustomed to Netflix.

Speaking about the show that also features Clarkson’s partners-in-crime Richard Hammond and James May, he said: “That’s their call. I would prefer weekly, I don’t think there is a box-set binge quality to it.”

He did admit he would like to see the show enjoy a seconda r y run on a traditional broadcaster.

Wilman said: “I have not thought about it but would like it to be seen by as many people as possible. I would be very happy that it can be seen anywhere.”

Referring to the Top Gear repeats on Dave, he said: “I’m hoping this has got a shelf life too.”

Clarkson and his team moved to Amazon after he was sacked for punching a Top Gear producer.

Anyone who wants to watch the Amazon show will have to pay a minimum of £5.99 a month.
