How Cat Spiced up a Mel C fan’s life
Seven Days columnist Cat Harvey has told how she brought some Spice to a charity pal’s life.
Last year, Cat trekked the Great Wall Of China and became close pals with cardiac nurses Alan Logan and Lisa Kennedy.
She made Alan’s dream come true last week by fixing it for him to meet his idol, Sporty Spice Mel C.
Alan said: “Having been a fan of Melanie C for over 20 years, since she appeared on the scene with the Spice Girls, meeting her up close and personal was always a dream I imagined would never come true.
“I was t r icked into believing that Cat wanted to interview myself and Lisa for our one- year China anniversary.
“We sat chatting about our time in China, when I heard my name being called out, and looked up to find Melanie C stood in front of me greet ing me with “SURPRISE” before giving me a massive hug!.
“I don’t often find myself speechless but it’s safe to say that for the first time in my life I was lost for words.”
Cat said: “I met Alan last year. He was great company but totally obsessed with Mel C.
“When I heard she was visiting Clyde 1 I knew I had to try to orchestrate a meeting.
“Alan and Lisa love their jobs as cardiac nurses for babies and children.
“I was just grateful I could give something back to a guy who spends his life doing nice things for others.”
