TV pair a big hit on red carpet
Having a hug-a-thon with actress Jennifer Garner and getting on the wrong side of fashion king Tom Ford is all in a day’s work for interior design gurus Colin and Justin.
The duo, who spent last week getting up close and personal with the world’s biggest stars on the red carpet at the Toronto International Film Festival, are now ready to spill the celebrity beans.
Colin McAllister, 49, and Justin Ryan, 47, charmed the high heels off the A- listers with their irresistible patter, getting them to open up about love, fashion and film.
The pair, who were on the red carpet for the sixth year in a row as reporters for Canadian network City TV, put their popularity with Hollywood’s elite down to their Glasgow banter.
Colin and Justin, who are massive TV stars in Canada, admit this was one of their most exciting years as they got to shoot the breeze with actress Lily-Rose Depp, counsel Breaking Bad’s Bryan Cranston and share some zen with Buddhist superstar Richard Gere.
Justin said: “This is one of our favourite gigs as we are massive movie buffs. The atmosphere in Toronto is electric and the festival is a great benchmark for which films and actors might strike it lucky at the Oscars.
“We always get a warm reception from the celebs and this year was no exception.”
Colin added: “It’s such a friendly festival and all the stars are delighted to stop for a chat. They like our banter and tend to spend more time talking to us than other reporters.
“It’s very surreal – after all, we are just two wee boys from Glasgow and there we are chatting and mucking about with the biggest names on the planet.
“From Natalie Portman and Amy Adams to Matt Damon and Casey Affleck, we’ve had so many pinch-me moments. It’s so nice for us to be able to swap hall carpet for red carpet.”
