Strictly Gaga says be a ninja winner
Pop queen Lady Gaga has told Stric t ly hopeful Melvin Odoom: “You’ve got to have it ninja to be a winner.”
TV and radio host Melvin revealed the f lamboyant singer – who has performed live on America’s Dancing with the Stars – has shared her dance rehearsal secrets.
“She told me to turn off my phone before routines and shut off from everything mentally,” he said. “And she said ‘ be like a ninja’. Not sure what she meant, but nice to get her input.”
The chart- topper, 30, passed on her advice during an interview on KISS FM where comic Melvin, 36, co-hosts the breakfast show.
He also reveals he’s trying something else with a kick to fuel his training for the first live show next Saturday – downing lots of coffee after dance par tner Janette Manrara, 32, suggested it.
Melvin said: “I don’t generally drink caffeine, but I’ve been introduced to coffee in the last few days to get me alert for training.
“It’s my new best friend. I don’t know how I have survived without it.
“Rehearsals are going well, but it’s harder work than I thought. It’s been pretty intense, but Janette is a great teacher.”
Former Xtra Factor host Melvin says he’s not worried about a ratings battle between Strictly and X Factor.
He said they were both great shows and his Xtra Factor replacements Rylan Clarke-Neil, 27, and Matt Edmondson, 30, had wished him all the best.
