Let’s end bleak week on a high and lift the fans

-

It has been a tough week here in Carolina after protests broke out over a police shooting.

A state of emergency was declared and there is a curfew, meaning people aren’t allowed on the streets between midnight and 6am.

The stadium is pretty close to everything that’s going on but I’ve not seen too much of it.

I’ve noticed a few National Guard jeeps dr iv ing past but that’s all.

There were plenty of peaceful prot e s t s initially so it’s sad to see people smashing windows, scrawling graffiti and looting.

A few Panthers players have spoken out in a bid to put an end to the violence.

It’s shocking and I hope they all figure something out soon.

Charlotte is an amazing place and I’m sure some changes need to be made.

But I prefer not to jump to conclusions.

Where I live, I haven’t been impacted by it too much and that’s lucky.

Now I hope we can give the fans something to cheer about today.

We ho s t the Minnesota Vikings knowing we have a win on the board after beating the San Francisco 49ers.

We scored almost 50 points in last week’s game and still didn’t play anywhere near as well as we can.

We are back on track now and we’ve always had the mindset that we never lost any momentum.

It’s a great Vikings team coming to town and they will challenge us. But I’m happy with my form so far and the only kick I’d want back is the one I missed in Denver.

Th e Vikings also have a great kicker, B la ir Walsh, plus dangerous return men that we don’t want to give too much space to. My family are coming to the game and my son Bryson in particular is starting to love what I do.

He is five now and is proud of me after figuring out what I do for a living.

After the win last week, we went out for a family dinner.

I can’t really pig out until the season is over though so it was still healthy. You get the urge to splurge after a win but I need to take care of my body in what’s a tough season.
