Losing record is not the full story

-

We won 14 games in a row last season so we’re not as bad as our current losing record suggests.

Last week just didn’t go to plan with a home loss to the Minnesota Vikings making it two defeats in three.

Realistically I should have made a field goal in the final seconds of game one and we would have opened the season with a win against Denver Broncos.

As for th e Vikings, they are a very good team and had a nice game plan.

T he y are one of the best teams in the NFL in terms of defence and can score a lot of points too.

However, all across the board we really didn’t play well.

We missed chances everywhere.

We started off hot but we had a lot of mistakes on special teams when the football was being kicked.

I hit the post on a 54- yard field goal attempt as well. It was a bit windy and I hit it really well but it got pushed right a little, which somet imes happens.

It’s not like I really screwed up because of bad form or anything like that.

Today we have our first divisional game against the Atlanta Falcons in the Georgia Dome.

They are leading the NFC South Division just now and we only have six division games to play every season.

Divisional opponents always lead to pretty intense games.

People are hyped up and everyone knows you need to win these games to get to the play-offs. We just need to play our own game.

The fans will make a little bit of noise but we are confident we can win anywhere.

We started with three losses from our first four games a few years back and finished 12- 4.

I don’t want it to happen again but we showed we can do it after things don’t go our way.
