Better times and prices would be just the ticket

Commuters and students at Glasgow’s Queen Street station during Friday’s rush hour told of their rail experiences.

Jack Delaney, 19 Music student from Cumbernauld

I find trains are often late but not massively so. I also have problems with them being busy. I didn’t bother trying to get on the first one into Queen Street today.

Lina Loransa, 22 Marketing student from Edinburgh

My train was late today – but it was the first time in a while and it was only by five minutes. I find the trains to be generally a good service – they are usually on time and are clean.

John Dowell, 62

Business consultant from Glasgow’s southside

My major issue is with the number of carriages – the trains are regularly too short and, therefore, overcrowded. I’m frustrated by the cost.

Shona Maguire, 22 Business student from Edinburgh

I find the trains aren’t great but they’re not terrible. There was a delay for me today – but generally there are not too many. At least if there is a problem, you are informed.

Adrienne McGovern, 20 Customer service adviser from Cumbernauld

I get the train every day and find them quite reliable. I’ve got a Zonecard and I think it’s good value. This week has been fine but it was a nightmare when they were doing engineering work.

Caroline Jennings, 56

Healthcare worker from Glasgow

I came in from Dundee today and my train was late by 45 minutes. I’d like to see more services and more stations.
