Derek Alexander A violent fraudster with links to organised crime in Scotland has landed a major role in an Asian star’s new music video.
Convicted crook Bilal Choudhary, who is around 5ft tall, is seen surrounded by models and smoking a cigar in the video for Punjabi pin-up Zohaib Amjad’s latest release Anni Pa De.
The big-budget production, which also features German actress Evelyn Sharma, was shot in Dubai.
It’s a stark contrast to the criminal’s old life in Pollokshields, Glasgow, where he ran with race hate murderer Imran “Baldy” Shahid’s gang.
Choudhary, 31, known as Billy, was locked up in 2002 for attacking a rival and attempted fraud with Ahsan Shahid, the brother of Baldy.
He was a close associate of Baldy before the thug murdered tragic schoolboyy Kriss Donald in 2004.
The killer was jailed for life with a minimum of 25 years. Earlier this year, he had a further 20 months added for assaulting a man behind bars.
Choudhary and Ahsan Shahid were found guilty at the High Court in Edinburgh of attacking a man in n Glasgow and attempting to use a stolen credit card to buy a television on and DVDs and withdraw cash.
Choudhary was also convictedd of attempting to prevent the coursee of justice and breach of the peace.
He received a custodial sentencence of four years and six months in totalal and was sent to Polmont Young Offenders’nders’ Institute.
A source said yesterday: “Billyly left Glasgow soon after he got out.”
Choudhary has lived in Dubai for several years and regularly visits Morocco.o.
He is also closely linked to jailed £113million bank scam fraudster Feezan Hameed Choudhary – nicknameddFiFizzy – who was last month jailed for 11 years. The pair are not related.
The source added: “He was close to Baldy and Fizzy who were heavily involved in high- end organised fraud.
“This is another one who’s come out of nowhere and is living the high life.
“He can smoke cigars and be surrounded by as many models as he likes – but he’ll always be wee Billy who was in Baldy’s gang.
“When he comes back to Scotland he keeps a low profile.”
Sources say Bilal Choudhary was bullied because of his height when he was younger.
However he then hooked up with Baldy, whose gang were blamed for a wave of high- value housebreakings within Glasgow’s Asian community.
Sources say the gang targeted houses owned by businessmen they believed to keep cash and jewels on the property.
Our source added: “Baldy’s crew were notorious housebhousebreakers. They knew which businessmbusinessmen were likely to keep money in the houshouse instead of putting it iin ththe bbank.k
“Billy and Ahsan became inseparable and did nothing without Baldy knowing about it.
“But Billy’s life is a million miles away from his time in Polmont now.”
Choudhary’s name and image are even used in promotional material for the Zohaib Amjad song, which was released last month.
Amjad is a popular Asian singer with a huge fanbase in the UK and Pakistan. The video has been viewed 616,000 times on YouTube.
The singer is signed to Beyond Records, who have off ices in Islamabad and Toronto.
Last month, we revealed another one of their artists, Bilal Saeed, had links to Feezan Hameed Choudhary.
Saeed described the fraudster as his “team” in an Instagram message and also performed at two private functions for the crook.
