Borussia crocks in a sweat

- Scott McDermott

Borussia Monchengladbach coach Andre Schubert plans to si lence the Parkhead crowd – but might have to do it without THREE of his key hitmen.

The German side misfired badly at home to 10-man Hamburg in the Bundesliga yesterday and squandered two penalties.

They struggled without injured trio Raffael, Josip Drmic and Thorgan Hazard in attack.

Swiss ace Drmic definitely won’t make the trip to Glasgow on Wednesday night – and Schubert revealed Raffael and Hazard could also be out.

The Champions League clash at Parkhead will be crucial to both sides’ chances of staying in Europe beyond Christmas.

And despite their poor

performance and result yesterday – as well as injuries to his front men – the Borussia boss insists they CAN produce the goods against Brendan Rodgers’ side. Last night Schubert said: “Celtic will be a difficult game for us, especially after a match like we had today against Hamburg. “Wednesday night is a very important game for our whole season. “We knew as soon as the group was drawn that the two games were going to be vital with us both realistically fighting for third.

“I haven’t studied Celtic in too much depth because I only ever concentrate on our next opponent.

“But now I will begin to prepare for Glasgow immediately. Everyone in the world knows about the atmosphere at Celtic Park.

“Hopefully, we can quiet down the stadium with a win.

“We’ll have our striker Andre Hahn fit even though he came off against Hamburg. But unfortunately, it doesn’t look too good for Raffael or Hazard.”
