AS STYLE SHOW PREPARES TO CELEBRATE LITTLE BLACK
Heather Greenaway It was described on its creation by Coco Chanel as “the frock that all the world will wear”.
The prediction – by no less an authority than Vogue magazine – did not overestimate the impact of the Little Black Dress.
Nine decades on, the LBD remains the go-to item in any women’s wardrobe.
Its legacy has stood the test of time and it remains the world’s most iconic fashion item that transcends age, size and occasion.
From Grace Kelly and Audrey Hepburn to Victoria Beckham and Kim Kardashian, it’s the dress even the stars can’t get enough of.
Scottish Style Awards founder Mary McGowne is celebrating the fabulous fashion icon with the return of her Little Black Dress event.
The stunning salon show, in association with Moet & Chandon and Chambord at The Corinthian Club, will showcase the best LBDs in Scotland.
Mary said: “The Little Black Dress is the ultimate style icon and this year’s show promises to be the most glamorous launch to the festive season. Guests can expect a stunning presentation including red carpet showstoppers, runway must-haves and the best of the high street.
“We will also present a special Little Black Dress Vintage segment showcasing Alexander McQueen, Dolce & Gabbana, Prada, Gucci and YSL.”
We asked six special guests to model their favourite LBD and tell us the stories behind them.
