Ballroom Balls on verge of leaving

-

Strictly fan favourite Ed Balls could be on the verge of exiting the show after ending up bottom of the leader board again.

The former shadow chancellor channelled the spirit of Mick Jagger – and movie model Zoolander – to do an energetic tango to the Rolling Stones’ Satisfaction last night.

But with only six couples left, the judges showed they didn’t share the viewers’ enthusiasm for the dancing politician.

He and pro partner Katya Jones came bottom by six points.

Then the pair also came a clear last in the additional Cha- Cha Challenge.

It’s possible that Balls’s viewer fan base might save him again.

But the pressure is growing on him to make way for more sk i l led dancers.

Before the show, Balls got some support from one of his rivals, TV barrister Robert “Judge” Rinder.

Rinder, 38, who is tipped to be in tonight’s dance-off after coming second-last to Balls last night, insisted the politician was getting better all the time.

He said: “The reality is I think the British public would get pretty tired if it was a Jeremy Vine situation – if he wasn’t getting better every week.

“Or if it was an Ann Widdecombe situation.

“But the reality is, by any fair or objective standard, every week he’s come out and tried his hardest and improved.”
