TV’S NOEL PLANS KIWI HOME DEAL

-

Veteran telly star Noel Edmonds is planning to up sticks and quit Britain.

The Deal or no Deal presenter is on an extended brea k , check ing out properties in New Zealand.

Friends claim he wi l l move there with his third wife, Liz Davies, but will come back to the UK for TV projects and business meetings.

Noel, 67, is said to be drawn to the other side of the world by the climate, lifestyle and “sense of space and spiritualism”.

Even arriving in New Zealand earlier this month just as a 7.8- magnitude earthquake struck the south Island near Christchurch hasn’t put him off.

A pal revealed: “Noel loves New Zealand – there is a real spiritual feel to the place and he wants to make it his permanent base.” But the friend said Noel has no plans to retire, adding: “He still has so much energy and things he wants to achieve, but television won’t be his main activity.

“He loves England but feels like the time is right to make a fresh start in a new place.”

The move comes after Channel 4 a xed hi s afternoon game show Deal or no Deal after 11 years.

Bu t bo s s e s ha v e commissioned five special editions of the show each year.

The former Noel’s House Party presenter also has several other new TV projects in the pipeline, including a Saturday night programme called Cheap, Cheap Cheap, featuring comic Alan Carr; another called Sell or Swap and a third – a big money game show.

Noel, who also has a home in France, has hit the headlines over the past few years for his controversial and eccentric behaviour.

Earlier this year he caused outrage after suggesting a cancer sufferer’s ill-health was caused by “negative energy”.

He has also launched an online station, Positivity Radio, which claims to help plants grow, as well as one called Positively Pets, which helps cats and dogs with behavioural problems.
