Dons playmaker McLean vows to deny Celts Treble

-

this afternoon’s Betfred Cup Final at Hampden as odds- on favour ites to capture the first trophy of the season.

Al ready wel l on the way to the Ladbrokes Premiership title with an eight-point cushion and two games in hand over Rangers in second, and one over third-placed Aberdeen, they are now as short as 2/1 for a clean sweep come May.

However, midfield ace McLean warned the Dons must not be written off.

He said: “There’s a lot of expectation on Celtic to go and clean up this year but we’ve got our own ideas and so will other teams in other cups.

“You look around the changing room, we’ve got the players there who can hurt Celtic and they will know that. We’ve done it in the past, just last season.

“Of course it has been well-publicised that Celtic have strengthened under Brendan Rodgers but people speaking about them being unbeatable and all this?

“We’ve got our own ideas about that as well. We’ ll def initely be trying to change that.”

Dons have spent the past few days preparing in St Andrews and McLean insists they have total belief they can shatter Celtic’s unbeaten domestic record.

He said: ” You look at the opposition, of course you do, but we’re going into the game high in confidence. We have a bit of momentum, we’re playing well.

“We 100 per cent believe we can get a result on Sunday and that’s the way it has to be.

“If you don’t have that belief then there’s no point in turning up. Come Sunday I’m sure we will be on the right side.”
