Adele Someone like Sid can be my chef
Singer Adele is snubbing celebrity chefs for her wedding day meal and calling in a Butcher instead.
The down- to- earth singer is turning to friend Sid Owen – famed as EastEnders’ Ricky Butcher.
Pals say Adele, 28, wants the former Celebrity MasterChef finalist to look after the catering when she ties the knot with Simon Konecki, 42. The Hello singer is planning to marry in Los Angeles af ter f inishing her gruell ing round-the-world tour.
And just days ago she hinted she was pregnant – or at least wants to be – by telling fans at her final US show, in Phoenix, that she was “off to have another baby”.
Speaking about the wedding, a source close to the couple said: “Only a few of their closest friends will be there, but Sid will definitely be involved and they’ve talked to him about food.
“They haven’t got fancy tastes. They could have almost any of the world’s best chefs but it’s just not who they are. Having one of their closest friends help out instead would mean a lot more to them.” Sid, 44, has worked as a patron for Simon’s water aid charity, Drop 4 Drop. He also reinvented himself as a chef since leaving EastEnders.
In 2007, he wrote cookery book Life on a Plate. He also opened, but later closed, a successful restaurant in France because he was unable to commit to it full time.
