Whitehall Getting laughs is no joke

-

Comedian Jack Whitehall has confessed he struggles to sleep because he’s worried he’s not funny.

The Fresh Meat star bel ieves his friends are funnier.

The posh 28- year- old Londoner said: “Every morning I wake up and wish I didn’t have to be funny.

“Comics are so disappointing. They’re never as amusing as they are on stage.

“I’m not even the funniest person in my group of friends.

“The minute I walk off, I think ‘Phew, I can stop’.

“I feel very anxious when I’m on tour.

“I lie in bed awake until 3am analysing every bit of that night’s performance.

“I need to get some sleeping pills.”

Whitehall says he’s also scared of bumping into people he’s taken the mickey out of.

He said: “I’ve made so many jokes about John Terry that when I saw him at an event, I was really worried.

“But he seemed to have taken them well.

“In Bournemouth, I was taking the p*** out of a landscape gardener and he came up on stage and put me in a headlock.

“All the security people w e r e g r i n n i ng a nd applauding along and I was thinking, ‘ Er, hello? This man is attacking me’.”

The comic is currently on a UK- wide tour and will be appearing at the SECC in Glasgow over four nights from Tuesday to Friday.
