Like Freddy Krueger, folk such as Piers Morgan will cease to exist if you turn your back on them. They do nothing. They bring nothing creative to the planet. And Ewan McGregor is Obi-Wan Kenobi for God’s sake

do? Stand on a milk crate in the street shouting at strangers?

If you’re going to sit there and say, as Morgan has repeatedly done, “Give Trump a chance,” then you need to realise many people are going to say, “Absolutely not.”

Trump has shown us who he is time and time again. In fact, while Morgan was trying to defend the Clown-In-Chief, Trump was removing all mention of climate change and LBTQ rights from the Whitehouse website. He was signing executive orders to damage the environment and restrict abortion rights and formulating plans to ban reporters he doesn’t like from his press conferences.

Let’s face it, the only people giving Trump a chance at this point are either in Russian intelligence, insane, or both.

Much has been made of the resistance of the “luvvy left” to Trump, whether it’s Meryl Streep, Bruce Springsteen or Ewan McGregor.

The thing Trump acolytes like Morgan have to understand is that the luvvy left do have power. Because people want them on their chat shows. They need them to sit down and discuss their movies and tours and records with them.

I’m hoping Ewan’s stance is adopted by more people in the creative community. If they start to refuse to do a show because the host has openly decided to side with a terrifyingly dangerous, psychopathic bully who is unfit for office, then what are you going to have?

Chat shows that come to resemble the Trump inauguration. “And here on the sofa this morning we have Three Doors Down, Toby Keith and some mad DJ no one has ever heard of.”

And the networks would start to look at this and they would have to start firing toxic idiots like Morgan.

Come on, brilliant though she is, we can’t leave all the resistance to Susannah Reid. There’s only so many sad looks to camera one girl can do.
