LOWLAND LEAGUE ROUND-UP

Stuart Noble grabbed a late winner for Gala Fairydean to sink bottom side Preston Athletic.

The former St Johnstone striker scored a first- half double with Des Sutherland also netting as Gala raced into a 3- 0 lead at half-time.

Goals from Robbie Carter, Jason Young and Reese Cochrane brought it back to 3-3 before Noble’s injurytime winner. He said: “It was end to end and when the chance came I took it.”

Elsewhere Selkirk fought back to earn a point in a 1-1 draw at BSC Glasgow.

Selkirk boss Ian Fergus said: “We showed a lot of character to come back against a very good team.”

And Chris Geddes scored a hat-trick as Stirling Uni beat Gretna 4-2.
