After an uninspiring stalemate, Caley Thistle have gone 11 matches and three months without a league win.

But the Irishman revealed the backdrop to the scoreless draw – which took Inverness joint bottom with Hamilton on 17 points – was a bout of sickness aff licting a camp already facing fitness problems.

Foran had described the Jags’ visit as a must-win match before the game, but revised his assessment of the value of the point in light of the fitness troubles blighting the camp.

The Irishman said: “It is a positive result as we had Gary Warren and Greg Tansey up all night before the game with a sickness bug and they shouldn’t have played.

“They both had to take injections before the game just to be able to play. Ross Draper has had one training session in two weeks and these lads put their bodies on the line.

“David Raven has been out for six or seven weeks and Henri Anier hasn ’t played since November either, so that’s why it is a positive result.

“I’m happy with the point considering what we went through before the game though. It’s probably a fair result and we can’t wait for Tuesday’s trip to Hamilton now. There is a bit of added pressure on Accies now we’re level on points and they are at home, so there’s exciting times ahead.

“Every game is must-win but I can’t say enough about the bravery and character of my players.

“Our focus has not changed. We’re six points away from the top six and it is too early to be talking about staying up. I fully believe we will be in the top six come the end of the season.”

With Ross County losing at Kilmarnock, Partick’s point took them into the top six on goal difference. Ryan “If Caley Thistle could get their fingers out that’d be grand.” Craig @Leitch91 Edwards was f i rst to threaten for the visitors with a 30-yard strike to draw a diving save from home keeper Owain Fon Williams.

The hosts hit back four minutes later with Raven’s searching cross from the right finding Carl Tremarco tearing in at the far side of the six-yard box.

After 22 minutes, a Sean Welsh ball into the Caley box ricocheted into the path of Ade Azeez but, from barely four yards, Fon Williams somehow touched his blast onto the bar and over.

Another slick Partick passing move ended with Chris Erskine scything in a low shot that Fon Williams dived to tip around the left-hand post.

Azeez then headed wide of the far post from Christie Elliott’s cross.

Frustrated Foran replaced striker Lonsana Doumbouya with midfielder Iain Vigurs on 38 minutes and soon after the hosts had a glorious chance.

Draper sent Liam Polworth racing in on the right of the box but the midfielder cut his shot a ga ins t the fe et of outcoming keeper Tomas Cerny.

And amid a late f lurry of pressure, V ig ur s a l so sliced a volley just wide.

I nv e r ne s s began the second half brightly and began to string passes together.

Tremarco f ired just over the bar on 49 minutes and at the other end, a f izzing Welsh free-k ick f rom distance dipped just over Fon Williams’ bar. With seven minutes left Aaron Doran was winding a path to the edge of the box but with the goal opening up before him, he fired just wide. Jags’ Callum Booth sliced over from inside the penalty area late on.
