Kouassi: Bring on Rangers

- Scott McDermott

Celtic new boy Eboue Kouassi says he can’t wait to sample the atmosphere of an Old Firm game.

The £3million midfielder checked into Parkhead on Thursday and immediately set his sights on Rangers’ visit in March.

The 19- year- old has already experienced fiery encounters during his stint in Russia with Krasnodar.

And Kouassi said: “The best atmosphere I’ve played in so far was my first match in Moscow against CSKA. That’s my most striking memory of my time in Russia.

“The noise was incredible, I hadn’t experienced anything like that before so it was quite a lot to take in.

“But thankfully that day I won the award for best player in my team.

“So I’ve been through similar things in Russia and have that experience.

“When cities have two big clubs there are always special matches – not just in Glasgow but anywhere in the world.

“As a player these are the games you always look forward to playing in.

“I have really positive expectations about the Rangers match – I’m not worried about it.”

Kouassi is set to be on the bench today when Hearts visit Parkhead.

He was impressed by the Hoops as they beat St Johnstone 1- 0 in midweek in Scott Brown’s 400th game for the club.

Kouassi added: “I watched the game on Wednesday night and the team played with a nice style. It was a good victory for us.

“I know that Scott played his 400th game for the club against St Johnstone.

“I can’t say how many matches I’ll have in the future, the most important thing is that I’m here and ready to play.”
