.. as well as a fight at Still Game stage show
Still Game returned with a bang – and a fang – to Glasgow’s Hydro yesterday.
Fans sported specially issued Methadone Mick plastic teeth that were given out with the official programme for the return of Ford Kiernan and Greg Hemphill’s hit stage show.
But whi le most people enjoyed donning the plastic gnashers – one fan may have lost his teeth after a fight broke out in the crowd. An onlookeron @iamsamtheman tweeted:tw “A guy started totally smackingsm into another guy’s face.fac Drew blood and the police came.”ca
AnotherA witness @Jmac92 posted:po “Imagine the redneck of being thrown out of Still Game for fighting.” A police spokeswoman said: “We’ve been made awa re of a disturbance. Officers at the scene are dealing with it.”
But the punch- up did not ruin the fun for the 13,000 fans at the first show of a 15- date
run. The show sees pensioners Jack and Victor plus Craiglang regulars Boabby the Barman, shopkeeper Navid and gossip Isa go on a cruise.
It follows up on the success of Still Game’s 2014 run at the Hydro, which saw a record- breaking 200,000 fans attend 21 sold- out nights.
Jorda n We l ton a nd boyfriend Ross Williamson, 32, had travelled from York to see the show.
Soldier Jordan, 22, said: “It was 100 per cent worth the trip. It’s definitely a 10 out of 10 from me.”
Welder John Campbell, 67, from Edinburgh, said: “If I had the money I’d go back to see it again – it was that good. I laughed all the way through.” NHS health care assistant Angela Kerr, 53, from Dundee, said: “I’d say it was about 70 per cent funny, 30 per cent not funny. The dance off between Jack and Victor was brilliant.
“Strictly Come Dancing eat your heart out – they’ve got the moves.”
