Leeann will smoke out Hibees yobs
Hibs chief Leeann Dempster has hit out at the fans who let off a smoke bomb during Friday’s 1- 0 win at Tannadice.
The Hibees took a massive step towards the Championship crown as they beat title rivals Dundee United.
But the actions of a small minority of the travelling support took some of the shine off the night – and Dempster has vowed to hunt them down.
She said: “The fans by and large were great, as they have been all season.
“Unfortunately the behaviour of a few individuals is tainting the reputation of the wider support.
“We released a statement last Sunday following a similar incident against Ayr United, which led to two fans receiving indefinite bans.
“We outlined the risks of pyrotechnics and flares and I will reiterate again that they are dangerous and the use of them is damaging our good name.
“We restate our position that incidents will be fully investigated and where individuals are identified they will be subject to sanctions.”
On-loan Celtic stopper Efe Ambrose was named Man of the Match on Friday and Darren McGregor is loving playing alongside the Nigerian at the back.
McGregor said: “I just give the ball to Efe and he does the rest! He can leave you on tenterhooks sometimes with the things he does but he has shown his class.”
