Hell fire fuelling Flynn

Charlie Flynn is out to make up for lost time after spending 12 months in A&E instead of bui lding his boxing CV.
The Mailman has been out of action for a year after a brutal string of injuries.
The Gla sgow 2014 Commonwealth Games star’s career has stalled after fracturing his ribs and his foot, ripping tendons in his hand and even tearing a nasty gash in his lip.
It’s been a nightmare spell for the 23-year- old but he’s fighting fit again and aiming to come back with a bang at the Hydro next month – the scene of his Commonwealth Games gold glory.
Flynn will take on Irvine’s Ryan Collins for the Celtic lightweight crown and the former postie wants to deliver a title to end his 12 months of torture.
He said: “Come April I’ll have been out for a year.
“It was the hand to start with, tendon damage. I needed surgery. I was out for a long time. When I came back my body wasn’t the same and I tried to push it in training and picked up other injuries.
“I fractured my ribs in sparring and then fractured my foot. Then when I was ready to fight at Christmas I got a shot on my lip sparring despite the head guard and needed stitches.
“I couldn’t fight until the stitches healed. I had a total of f ive injuries. It was torture mentally.
“But what has happened has made me hungry and I ’ m dying to put on a per formance to show everybody what I’ve got.
“This is a real fight. He’s got a good record.”
Flynn admits he’s diving right in at the deep end with a title tilt in his comeback bout on the undercard of Ricky Burns superlightweight unification fight with Julius Indongo on April 15.
He said: “This is my first title fight and the Celtic is a big title, so it’s a big deal.”
