Baby joy for mum of tragic teenager
Th e mot he r of murdered teenager Paige Doherty has revealed she is expecting.
Pamela Munro says she is 30 weeks pregnant with her fifth child.
She and husband Andy revealed the news yesterday, just over a year after the death of 15-year-old Paige.
They say the baby girl has given the family – including Andrew, 11, Peyton, five, and Lucas, one – something positive to focus on.
Pamela, 33, said: “We never planned it but when it happened it was a positive thing for us to focus on.
“It will never replace Paige and we wouldn’t want it to but we have always wanted a big family.
“Paige would have loved a new wee sister.”
Paige, of Clydebank, was murdered in a frenzied knife attack by John Leathem, 32, in his deli in the town last March 19.
He disposed of the schoolgirl’s body – which had 146 injuries – in woods next to a busy main road.
The kil ler was snared thanks to CCTV footage showing Paige entering the shop but not leaving.
Leathem was jailed for life and ordered to serve at least 27 years by Lady Rae at the High Court in Glasgow in October last year.
The minimum sentence was reduced by four years on appeal.
Earlier this month, it emerged that thousands of pounds of Leathem’s deli assets are being seized by the Crown.
