Fort William The teenager grew up in a cottage in the wilds of the Cairngorms National Park, where he was a junior ranger, helping to protect the flora and fauna and delivering bush-craft sessions.

In 2016 he spent a year living alone in a tipi on Skye after winning a place at the island’s School of Adventure Studies.

He is now making his third film in a bid to encourage others to enjoy and celebrate their local environmen­t. This group aim to connect young people with nature. Their volunteeri­ng throughout Shetland helps promote the work of the RSPB and helps others to experience nature.

The group use social media and other tools to encourage others to get involved in conservati­on. They also clear up beaches popular with rare birds.

Hill of Beath, Dunfermlin­e This is Scotland’s first totally green salon, where students are taught a new and innovative approach to hairdressi­ng.

They use eco-friendly products and disposable towels to save on laundry. And local extraction vents hover above cutting and colouring stations to remove traces of chemicals.
