Glasgow Rocks coach Sterling Davis believes the fear of embarrassm­ent can spur his side today against British Basketball League leaders Leicester Riders.

The Midlands outfit will look to take a step closer to the title and extend their winning streak to 17 games, seven days after a 33-point drubbing over Plymouth in the Trophy Final.

Davis said: “Almost all the guys were at the final so they know what level Leicester are playing at.

“I’ve told everyone to make sure we arrive focused because you know what can happen if you aren’t.”

Meanwhile, Caledonia Pride picked up the biggest win in their short history by edging out WBBL title contenders Sheffield Hatters 79-78 in Edinburgh. Snooker star Anthony McGill kicks off his bid for a third ranking title this term in the early hours of tomorrow at the China Open against home favourite Tian Pengfei.

Fellow Scots Eden Sharav and Ross Muir clash, while Scott Donaldson has a tough test against Stuart Bingham.

Graeme Dott takes on Gary Wilson and Rhys Clark and Fraser Patrick are in action against Mark Davis and Mark Joyce respective­ly.

John Higgins tackles Ian Burns on Tuesday, the same day Alan McManus faces Matthew Stevens and Stephen Maguire lines up against Fergal O’Brien. Braehead Clan close their regular Elite League ice hockey season at Edinburgh Capitals tonight.

Clan coach Ryan Finnerty said: “We want to make sure we’re playing at our best and building for the play- offs.”

Dundee Stars entertain Fife Flyers bidding to join their rivals in the play- offs. Newcastle Diamonds wel come Berwick Bandits in the second leg of speedway’s Tyne/ Tweed Trophy tonight.
