Thomas Mikkelsen admitted his girlfriend and family missed his moment of cup final glory because they were watching the game from a pub in Dundee.

Dane Mikkelsen came off the bench to head home United’s winner.

The striker said: “My girlfriend’s family came across from Denmark but they stayed in the pub in Dundee.

“It was a last-minute trip and it was too late to arrange tickets for all of them.

“I just have to hope they’re not too drunk! My girlfriend Julie is pregnant at the moment so she won’t be drinking.”
