HEARTS V CELTIC

-

The first medal of his career was earned with a hat-trick in front of 90,000 fans at Wembley.

This afternoon Scott Sinclair believes he will top it with a league title after a season’s worth of graft and glory.

The 28-year- old has been one of Celtic’s inspirations on their road to domestic dominance after pairing up with gaffer Brendan Rodgers again in August.

The last time the two were together, the winger’s wondrous pe r f o rma nce in the 2 011 Championship Play- Off Final saw Swansea promoted to the English Premier League for the first time with a 4-2 win over Reading.

This afternoon, he’ll go back to Tynecastle – the scene of his scoring debut for the Hoops – and try to finish what he started.

Sinclair said: “I’m looking forward to the match. We can win the title and Tynecastle is where it all started for me.

“I got a medal before when we won the play- off final with Swansea. It was really something to go into the Premier League.

“But this is different. This is actually winning a championship.

“I scored a hat-trick that day for Swansea but it seems so long ago.

“It’s just a different experience in your career. Getting promoted and scoring a hat-trick in front of 90,000 people at Wembley is a great feeling but this is a different chapter.

“I’ve been through a hell of a lot since then, going from club to club.

“I put in a lot of hard work behind the scenes when things weren’t going so well.

“I experienced relegation at Aston Villa and was at Manchester City where I didn’t play for two years,

“I’m quite proud of myself that I kept battling and wanting to do well and be the best I can be.

“Now I’m settled and looking forward to lifting more trophies. I c an’t a s k for much more.”

Celtic couldn’t have asked for a bigger impact for thei r £ 4million investment.

Scoring in eight of his first nine league games, he set the tone manager Rodgers wanted in terms of his work rate as well as his end product.

Yet he revealed he didn’t even expect to suit up on his first day in the job.

But he came off the bench to score a heroic length-of-the-pitch winner on the break with nine minutes left against the Jambos.

Sinclair said: “All I remember is the whole thing being so rushed.

“I hadn’t trained with the lads and had no chance to get to know anyone – I didn’t think I was going to be involved.

“I had the MRI scans then went to the team hotel on the Saturday night. We all roomed on our own as well. “So I got to the hotel and was literally straight t o my room. “My
