DAY I LOST MY HEARTS TO HOOPS

Scott knew he’d found home after debut goal

first contact with the players was in the morning. We had a walk then breakfast. I can’t even remember who I spoke to first.

“I certainly didn’t expect to play but the manager told me ‘Get ready, you will be involved tomorrow.’

“It just happened so fast but I was so looking forward to it. I had all these feelings running through me and that showed when I came off the bench.”

Rodgers may have had to do a sales pitch to Sinclair to get him north but the 18- goal star insists the switch has been everything it said on the tin.

“Def i n itely,” he insisted. “In fact I would say more so.

“You have an idea of what it’s going to be like but it has actually been better than that.

“My main priority was just to come here, play and enjoy it.

“And the manager is happy as well. I’m sure he had other options but Celtic are a massive club.

“He supported Celtic as a child so being the manager here means a lot to him.

“I’m sure he has been happy in all his jobs but up here we are winning games and doing so wel l which makes it a bit more special.”

Celtic are now 36 games unbeaten in all domestic competitions, their drive for perfection incessant.

And the former England Under-21 star said: “I’ve enjoyed every single moment – 100 per cent, this is the happiest camp I’ve been in. “The lads here all want to work hard and do well while the manager makes sure we are prepared for every game so we keep that winning mentality.

“It’s just about being relentless, just keeping going, not dropping our standards.

“People might say we’ve fallen off as a team in the past couple of games but I don’t think that’s the case.

“It’s just because we set our standards so high. Everyone expects us to win by two or three in every game.

“It comes down to hard work, belief and keeping going until there are no games left to win.

“We play every game like it’s our first. We won’t take setbacks, even in training we keep ploughing forward.”
