Pedro’s words had my Well boys fired up to go on attack

-

Stephen Robinson was thrilled to shove Pedro Caixinha’s predictions back down his throat.

The Fir Park gaffer was gutted to leave Ibrox with a point after a man-of-the-match show from Rangers No.1 Wes Foderingham.

He said: “I read in Pedro’s press interviews all about how we were going to lie back and we were coming to get beat – that was never the case for us.

“We played three up front all the time and we were brave. I doubt many people come to Ibrox and do that. We fancied our chances.

“He made changes and they worked for five minutes until we got our momentum again.

“There was a couple of decisions that looked dubious now that I have seen them again.

“You don’t get those things at Ibrox – anywhere else we may have had a penalty. We are really disappointed we haven’t come away with three points.”

Scorer Louis Moult shared his manager’s despair – but praised ref Steven McLean for getting a big call right when he chopped off a goal for Well for offside when his shot glanced off Stephen Pearson on the way in.

He moaned: “How’s my luck? It’s unbelievable. Pearson didn’t even know where the ball was.

“It’s a strange one. But at the end of the day it’s a good decision, so fair play.

“That’s probably our best performance of the season so we have to take the positives. Their keeper was their best player.

“That must be the standard going forward.”
