Scout You could be next big thing

-

Select are one of the most successful model agencies in the world, with more than 14 of their women ranked in the prestigious models.com top 100.

Sibling owners Claire and Chrissie Castagnetti established Select Model Management 40 years ago and the agency was one of the first to scout girls and boys directly from the streets of London.

They represent some of the biggest names in the business, including Natasha Poly, Irina Shayk, David Gandy, Stella Tennant, Daisy Lowe, Jess Glynne and Charli XCX.

Select booker Hannah Sneath,

38, has been with the agency for 13 years and has scouted some of the world’s top models.

She said: “I love my job as a booker on the new faces table. It’s a fast-paced and exciting world where every day is different.

“When scouting, I usually head to places like Topshop, River Island or Urban Outfitters, where young girls tend to congregate.

“If I see someone with potential, I approach them and give them my card.

“We also scout at all the summer music festivals as well as agricultural shows and dance events.

“Even when I’m not working, I’m on the lookout and have scouted a model at a car boot sale and on holiday. The first thing I look for in a girl is height and long limbs. I also look for the unusual – someone with a quirky look and striking features like sticky-out ears or a different hairstyle.

“Over the years, I have scouted some big names including Lily Donaldson.

“Our top models get to work with the biggest fashion names including Chanel and Prada and walk in shows all over the world.

“As well as Alexandra, we have several other Scots girls on our books – Erin Maia, Olivia Fenn, Talia Mathers and Olivia Simm.

“We hope our competition, in conjunction with the Sunday Mail and Colours, will help us find more.”
