-

Sam Allardyce watched his Crystal Palace side end Chelsea’s 13-game winning run on home soil then declared: “That shocked you all, didn’t it?”

And Blues boss Antonio Conte says the Premier Leaguee run-in could serve up a few moreore as he admitted mitted the titlee race iss interestingting again.

The Italian’ss side are seven points clear of Spurs after Wilfried Zaha and Christian Benteke scored withinwit three minutes following Cesc Fabregas’Fa break th breakthrough. Conte said: “For you (the Press) it’s a good result because it makes the championship champ more interesting.inte “But I’ve alwaysal said theth league finishes when you have the mathematical certainty you’ve won. Otherwise you must fight. An easy game doesn’t exist in England.”

When Eden Hazard turned Joel Ward twice and crossed for Fabregas to tuck in after five minutes it appeared another home victory was inevitable.

But Benteke found Zaha, who, with his back to goal, held off Cesar Azpilicueta and evaded Nemanja Matic to find the bottom corner four minutes later.

And Palace became the first side to beat Chelsea at Stamford Bridge since Liverpool in September after a one-two between Benteke (left) and Zaha saw the former dink over Belgian pal and Blues No.1 Thibaut Courtois.

There was an element of good fortune for the Eagles as Andros Townsend failed to concede a penalty when Pedro’s shot struck his arm on 17 minutes.

Palace are four points clear of the dropzone and boss Allardyce added: “It’s an absolutely outstanding victory, particularly in the position we’re in.”
